PROPOSITION NO. 1

Transportation Projects Summary: This proposition focuses on improving streets, intersections, residential roads, sidewalks, and trails to enhance mobility and safety. It allocates the largest share of the bond package.


Funding: $205 million (general obligation bonds).


Tax Implications: No increase in property tax rates; repaid using existing revenues.

Authorized: $205 million (~49.6% of package) Focus: Street widening, intersection improvements, residential road rehabilitation, sidewalks/trails enhancements, and related infrastructure.


Detailed projects include: widening key streets, fixing intersections for safety/flow, resurfacing/rehabbing neighborhood roads, adding/upgrading sidewalks and multi-use trails district-wide.

    • Olive/129th – New Orleans to Florence: $11,500,000

    • Houston/81st – State Highway 51 to 209th: $7,200,000

    • Elm/161st – New Orleans to Florence: $3,600,000

    • Florence/111th – Aspen to Elm: $6,700,000

    • Kenosha/71st - Creek Turnpike to 51st (Evans Rd): $8,400,000

    • 23rd/County Line Road - Houston to Washington: $2,950,000

    • Aspen/145th - Dearborn to Omaha: $5,300,000

  • Unnamed (Secondary) Projects (if funds remain, including intersections, rehab, and connectivity):

    • Kenosha/71st – Sycamore to Juniper: $2,500,000

    • 1st Place and Washington: $1,850,000

    • Grant Allocation Funds - Match Money for future projects: $8,500,000
