Debbie Long

State Representative District 09

Debbie Long’s family roots run deep in the Claremore area, with eight generations having called it home. She is grateful for that rich legacy and for a close-knit community that still feels like the welcoming hometown of her childhood — where neighbors wave to familiar faces while walking downtown on a summer afternoon.

Married to her husband Eric for 28 years, Debbie and their daughters and their families are proud to have made their homes in Rogers County.

For twenty years, Debbie served as the volunteer Executive Director of Leadership Rogers County. Driven by a desire to give back to the community she loves, she focused on developing future leaders by designing class schedules and connecting participants with local and state leaders, non-profits, schools, and businesses. This work helped class after class discover where their talents could make the greatest impact, while building lasting relationships and preparing them to step into roles of service.

During her time as Mayor of Claremore, an EF-3 tornado struck on the night of May 25, 2024, dramatically changing life for her and so many others in the community. Setting aside her official role, Debbie worked alongside countless volunteers to coordinate debris cleanup, tarp damaged homes, deliver meals and water, secure temporary housing, and match roofers and tree-removal teams with those in need. Together with April and Justin Daniels, she co-founded Claremore and Rogers County Disaster Assistance (CRCDA) to ensure tornado victims received the critical help they needed. Months later, the organization continues its long-term recovery efforts by securing resources, raising gap funding, and maintaining close contact with affected families. Hundreds of households have received repairs, supplies, and guidance — a powerful example of what compassion, coordination, and determined neighbors can achieve.

To Debbie, leadership means service. Decades of hands-on experience — as a Claremore business owner for over 35 years, volunteer Executive Director of Leadership Rogers County, Mayor of Claremore, and leader in crisis response and recovery following the 2024 tornado — have equipped her with the skills, judgment, and proven commitment to bring people together and deliver real results.

She is honored to continue that work for Oklahoma as the next State Representative for House District 9. Debbie is committed to focusing on practical solutions, building transparent partnerships, and helping families move from crisis to stability — always guided by the promise of progress for her community.
