John “Payton” Pepin is a Republican candidate for the Oklahoma State Senate, District 2, in the 2026 primary. A longtime resident of Rogers County, he and his wife have lived in the area since 2006 and are raising five children who attend Claremore Sequoyah schools.
Pepin graduated from OSU-Tech in 2005 with a degree in Construction Management on a full scholarship. He has worked as a construction manager, earning an “Above and Beyond Call of Duty” service award for his contributions to the OSU School of Architecture project in 2009. Today, he owns and operates his own construction company and is a published author.
Since 2018, Pepin has been actively involved in defending the rights and liberties of working Oklahomans. His campaign emphasizes a commitment to “Refuse to be Silenced,” positioning him as a bold advocate for the values of Senate District 2 constituents rather than special interests. He has pledged to accept no lobbyist money, ensuring he remains accountable solely to voters.
Key priorities include lowering property taxes (especially for seniors), protecting Oklahoma sovereignty by limiting foreign ownership of land, fighting against what he calls the “Green New Scam,” and serving as a firewall against excessive government regulation, taxes, and bureaucracy. He criticizes the incumbent for low alignment with Republican values on several key votes and promises regular engagement with constituents.
Pepin presents himself as a principled, grassroots conservative dedicated to putting people over politics.
